SURREY SECRETS
With our Blue Badge Guide today, we will be exploring the spectacular Surrey hills and surrounding Guildford area with its historic market towns, picturesque villages and breathtaking views. First stop a visit to Farnham Castle, then on into Farnham for lunch. The spectacularly decorated Watts Chapel with only one tiny room deserves the title of Surrey Secret and will be on route and after our coach tour we will finish our day with a visit to Denbies Vineyard for afternoon tea. A nice easy day with plenty to do and see.

Our Valentine Meander is a chance to meet friends old and new, enjoy a ride through the countrside and arrive at a warming hostelry ready for a lunchtime meal and a drink.

Westrings are excited to offer our excursion 'Tickets Please'. Meeting our Guide mid morning, we will have coffee at the British Library and a chance to see and hear some of the library's treasures. From there the magnificently restored St Pancras Station and the new staue of John Betjeman who gazes up at the wonderful arch of the freshly restored building which he once wrote was simply "too beautiful and too romantic to survive". Marvel at the detailing of Gilbert Scott's gothic hotel, his gargoyles of drivers and engineers, majestic brick arches and great ticket hall like a cathedral confessional. Tales of omnibuses, trolley buses, carriages and clippies, lost underground stations and many curios and transport trivia will be told before we enter with our guide to the new-look London Transport Museum conjuring up what it was like to travel by public transport 200 years ago ans what it will be like in the future. Avirtual journey on a 1938 Tube stops at a new decade every station with passengers stepping on board in perfect period clothes. Lots to see and do but time to stop for tea in the Upper Deck Cafe before heading home.
